Distinctive black magnetic sand, calm shallow water, and plenty of space make Shekvetili a low-key Black Sea escape—comfortable for families and uncrowded strolls. Park close to the sand, then stay for sunset; a small café by Mirage Hotel and occasional fireside music add an easy evening stop, though cleanliness can vary.
Surprisingly far — the water reportedly stays shallow for roughly 50–70 meters, making it comfortable for young children to paddle and swim. Still keep an eye on them, especially as conditions can change.
Not consistently. Some visits find the sand and water clean, but others mention plastic, cigarette butts, and cars parked on the beach; there have also been complaints about litter around the lifeguard area. It’s worth checking your stretch before settling in.
