Tserkov' Rozhdestva Ioanna Predtechi

Perched on a hill above the Volkhov River, enjoy sweeping views of the Sopki Tract, the nearby fortress and Assumption Monastery — climb the burial mound of Duke Oleg for the best panorama. Built in the 13th century and rebuilt in stone in 1695; check the candle shop frescoes and the tiled stove, then walk down to the holy spring by the river.
